Sofía Jirau makes history as 1st Victoria’s Secret model with Down syndrome

Sofía Jirau is making history as Victoria’s Secret’s first model with Down syndrome.

She joins 17 other women in the company’s newest underwear line and campaign, Love Cloud Collection.

The 24-year-old shared a black and white photo of herself in a Victoria’s Secret bra, as she made the announcement.

She than thanked Victoria’s Secret for seeing her as a model “without limits,” on her Instagram.

“One day I dreamed of it, I worked on it and today it is a dream come true. I can finally tell you my big secret,” Jirau wrote on her Instagram in Spanish. “I am the first Victoria’s Secret model with Down syndrome!”

The Love Cloud Collection marks the first campaign under the new creative director, Raúl Martinez, who joined in January.

It also comes months after the company said goodbye to its signature “Angels” and rebranded with seven women including actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas and LGBTQ model and activist Valentina Sampaio, the first transgender model to be featured in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.
