Triple H launched a brutal assault on Seth Rollins’ knee on Monday’s Raw, casting doubt on whether the recovering Superstar can make it to WrestleMania.
Triple H was originally embroiled in fisticuffs with old adversary Mick Foley, the general manager of Raw.
Foley had fired Stephanie McMahon, Triple H’s wife, leading to the brawl which Rollins interrupted, still holding the crutches that aided his recovery from a serious knee injury.
But Triple H, who had been mooted to face Rollins at WrestleMania, got the better of him by re-injuring his leg.
Brock Lesnar was paraded in front of the Raw crowd by his spokesman Paul Heyman, just a week after leaving Goldberg laying in the ring.
Lesnar was swiftly beaten by Goldberg in their first match but, before a WrestleMania rematch, Heyman ominously explained why his client would readdress the score.
Sheamus and Cesaro’s match against Enzo Amore and Big Cass ended in a no contest when Tag-Team champions Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson interrupted. Their plan backfired – Gallows and Anderson must now defend their belts against both tag-teams at WrestleMania.
Roman Reigns beat Jinder Mahal but his focus was on “retiring” The Undertaker at WrestleMania. He received words of warning from WWE icon Shawn Michaels before his big moment.
